Introduction

In 1972 Congress passed the Clean Water Act (CWA) to regulate the discharge of pollutants to receiving waters such as oceans, bays, rivers, lakes, and streams.

Storm Water

Storm water maybe over looked as a waste of water when its really a resource. Storm water must be treated at the sources as soon as possible for removing one pollutant at a time. Also storm water is treated for oil and grease from vehicle leaking oil and from the washing of driveway parking lots and cars. A lot of water pollution comes from fuel spills and improper storage of toxic material.
